4th day in Taiwan

After breakfast, we actually wanted to go to 双莲 to visit the puppet theatre. But from the lesson, since the hotel staff and even the metro station staff also doesn’t know much about the place, we decided to drop the idea. Jerine’s eyes were sharp enough to spot the 地下书街 from 双莲站to 中山站。

We bought quite a lot of books. HQ finally found some books on 童诗for her Dad, JQ found relatively cheap books by 几米,I actually wanted to buy 西游记and 镜花缘, but was scare off by the 繁体字。In the end, I bought a comic book on 伊索寓言 , a book on 连一连pictures and 3 books on 卡通简单笔法(人物、综合、昆虫). Haha, am I aiming to draw like MC Huang? No...no... That will take more than 10 yrs.
As we walked and shop along the way, we were also stunned by the students' creativity and skills. The walls were beautifully painted.
We also found a shop which sells very cheap yet cute cards. We bought a lot!

There's a lot of goodies along the passage from 双莲站 to 中山站, so we bought some souvenirs for our classmates and friends.

At about 3pm, we took the metro to 后山埤 when 五分埔 is. We had lunch at 胡须张鲁肉饭。We ordered 4碗鲁肉饭、猪蹄、豆芽、小肠炖汤、苦瓜汤、排骨汤、玉米羹。Each one had to pay only about SG$5.50! 又便宜又好吃!

满足了味蕾,我们就到对面的五分埔货品批发商店逛逛。

Highly recommended, the shop Lemon Grass (柠檬草) selling 衬衫,the staff are really skillful. We cannot try but with our mensurements, the blouses that she chose for us were really fitting. Not too big or too small. It fits us all. So HQ and JQ went back to get 1 more. 佩服!佩服!

Eventually, Jerine bought a bag. After a few "askings", the bag which was initially selling at NT580 was reduced to NT450! I think it could be lower for the salesperson didn't even think twice when Jerine suggested a lower price. Look! That's because we are not used to bargaining.

For dinner, we tried the 鱼肚饭 opposite 五分埔。The 笋丝 is actually preserved, so not very nice. The food stall is really different from Singapore, the kitchen is outside, so customers can see how the food was prepared.

Since today is our last night at 西门町,we stopped by 太和西饼店 to buy some 土产。My bro had bought 太阳饼 2 weeks ago, so I bought a few packets of muah chee and a box of 芝麻饼。
